24 Dec Winter Cocktails, Gift Wrapping & Other Holiday Cheer

A couple weeks ago we got together with Rodeo & Co. Photography and Emily Herzig Floral Studio to shoot some holiday cheer at their new studio in Littleton, New Hampshire. We put together some cocktail recipes and gift wrapping inspiration, while Emily paired deep marsala peonies with amaryllis and greenery. We jazzed up a Christmas-y mantle, complete with chunky knit stockings. It was super pretty and the whole thing put us in a festive mood, despite the lack of snow in New England. We hope it will inspire you to build some delicious libations for your guests (the rosemary Champagne cocktail is our favorite!) and take your wrapping to a whole new level this Christmas.

Quick Holiday Champagne Cocktail:

Made with just a few ingredients, this champagne cocktail is delicious and easy!

The elderflower can be also be St. Germaine but we love the small batch story behind Jack Rudy Cocktail Co.

Cranberry Thyme Holiday Cocktail:
A seasonal twist on your classic gin and tonic.

In shaker combine cranberry syrup, gin, and ice. Shake and pour into a glass over ice (we like an elegant tumbler or even a copper cup for this cocktail. Top with tonic, garnish with a sprig of time and lemon wedge.

Cranberry Syrup Recipe:
  • 3/4 cup cranberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Fresh thyme leaves

In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, vanilla extract. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes until the cranberries are soft. Add thyme and stir. Strain the syrup to dispose of the cranberry skins.

OK, you’ve got a cocktail (or a split of Moët?) Now we can focus on wrapping…

And decorating…
