01 Jan 2014 | By Emily B. Event Design | A Year in Review

2014 was an amazing year for By Emily B. We worked with remarkable clients, curated beautiful weddings, and were so honored to be named one of Martha Stewart’s top 63 wedding planners! We kicked 2014 off with a very exciting wedding, which has been picked up for publication in a very exciting magazine so we can’t actually share it with you now but we can’t wait until we’re able. Now let’s take a peek at some of the pretty we put together in 2014!

Our second event of the year is a serious treat and was a favorite for the entire team. We packed ourselves up and drove to St. Augustine, Florida to execute the wedding of one of our own, Emily Davis. It was warm, beautiful, and super fun. We got to work with The Conservatorie and Ben Sasso Photography, two vendors we truly admire. It was a dream and our girl looked totally gorgeous!

In mid-June we planned a sweet, rustic camp wedding at Bluewater Farm for Jess and Kevin. We encouraged them to get married on a Friday so they could relax with friends and family on the lake for the rest of the weekend. With the help of Valley Flower Co. we paired soft colors, like ivory, sage, and lavender with the camp’s dark woodsy backdrop and the results were sort of magical.

The next day Brittany and Michael tied the knot at the New London Historical Society. It was a chilly June day but this bright, cheerful color scheme kept us all warm. As you can tell, it was a really, really fun day. The Knot certainly thought so since they published it in their most recent issue as one of their top 18 New England weddings!

In late June we had the pleasure of working with the ladies of Bishop Farm to execute a playful, elegant destination wedding for a sweet California couple, Eliza and Brent. We were lucky enough to have DreamLove Wedding Photography capture it and Ruffled Blog pick it for feature!

In September we teamed up with Lakes Region Bride Magazine and Rodeo & Co. Photography for an Anne of Green Gables-inspired photo shoot at Hardy Farm. And as lovers of literature, this was a real highlight for us!

In October we had the pleasure of doing the floral design for our dear friends Tracy and Dave at their White Mountain Wedding. Sweet, soft pink paired with ivory, sage, and gold – it was super dreamy. And we got to work with Paper Antler for the first time, which was a total treat!

We wrapped our year with some of our favorite people in one of our favorite places: St. John. We took an inflatable four miles and hiked with all our supplies just so we could shoot at the Windy Hill/Annaburg Ruins near Waterlemon Cay. Lindsay Vann had a vision and we brought it to life at this magical secret garden location. I feel so blessed that we had the opportunity to get creative in such a gorgeous place. It was a total dream come true.

It was quite a year and we’re so grateful to everyone who took part in it. Here’s to 2015 and all the magic it is sure to bring…
